In a pub the other day, on a little blackboard on the bar, there was a little sign appealing to customers not to ask for plastic straws with their beverages. One morning during the week, as I was on the train to work, a man opposite me was reading a newspaper, at the back of which there was an article speculating that the UK plans to ban plastic plates and cutlery in the near future. I have to say that I had no idea what to expect when I planned my trip to Istanbul, all I knew was that I was going to stay with one of my good friends and her family and I was told to pack light because I would be doing lots of shopping. In case you didn’t catch from the title of this post or all the noise I’ve been making on all my social media, I’ve moved out of dorms!!! A part of me is super sad that first year has come to an end and I’ve had to move off campus. It’s been amazing getting to be a part of the special experience that living on campus offers.
