Mother’s Day? What to say?!

Today is the day when the world celebrates the women who have added us to the population of an already too crowded planet! I’m just kidding don’t worry XD

But this really is the day when we celebrate the women who put us on the planet…whether is was on purpose or by accident, we’re here and it’s all thanks to them. Although it is up to us to let them know every day just how much they mean to us, this day has especially been put aside for those of us who forget to say those three words on every other day.

What is a mother? A mother is the woman who has brought you up to be the person you are today. A mother is the woman who knows you better than anyone else even if you yourself regret to admit that… A mother need not be the woman who gave birth to you, but a person who took care of you in the time of your life when you needed a female presence the most. The woman who was there, to nurse your bruised knee as a baby and later on your broken heart? That’s your mother. The woman who was there to scold you when you didn’t work hard at school or disobeyed? That’s your mother. The woman who always has your best interests at heart and who would trade her life for yours? That’s your mother.

Whether you have the individual you call ‘mother’ with you in your life or not, take a moment to think about all the things she has ever done for you when you were too innocent to do them yourself. All the sacrifices she has made to allow you to be brought up the way you were. And for all the times your heart turned cold when you got mad at her, take a moment and think about the fact that she will always be the person you can run to and pour your heart to.

I am fortunate enough to have my mother in my life, and for that I am eternally grateful, but I know that I won’t have her forever. That’s why I try (I really try!!) to make the most of each day and show her how much she means to me. Even when we argue, I never want it to last long, because I know that everything she does is so that I can grow up to be a woman she can be proud of. She is my idol, my role model, my teacher, my counselor, my confidant and most importantly, my beautiful and selfless mummy! Thank you for being such an important part of my life! I love you with all my heart!

And to all the mommies out there, from your beloved children, we want you to know that we love you dearly, even if we may not always show it! You are the reason we exist and for that we are forever in your debt!
